Theresa Wilson
Fund Operations Advisor
As a mission and community investing professional, Theresa is passionate about leveraging market-based solutions and innovative partnerships to accelerate economic development, alleviate poverty, and facilitate social justice. Theresa is an experienced operations manager for impact funds launched by foundations and nonprofits. For example, Theresa runs Fund Operations for Seattle Foundation’s Evergreen Impact Housing Fund, an $80M series of funds with local bank, credit union, and corporate investors. Theresa has helped set up impact fund structures and operations or provided operating and monitoring services for the impact investing programs of 30+ clients including private foundations, community foundations, local governments, and nonprofits. Theresa has 15+ years of experience working with small businesses, supporting the development of impact investing portfolios, conducting debt, equity, and fund investment due diligence, and monitoring the impact and performance of these investment portfolios.
Prior she worked at Avivar Capital where she managed internal operations and provided investment due diligence and client portfolio management services. Theresa also supported a $50M impact portfolio at Omidyar Network, worked in SME Private Equity at the IFC, supported the Market Dynamics team at Results for Development, and served as a Kiva Fellow working to launch Kiva’s US-based micro finance platform. Before Kiva, she served in the U.S. Peace Corps in the Republic of Georgia and Costa Rica.
Theresa holds an MBA and MA in Global Affairs from Yale University where she was a Forte Fellow, Executive Director of the Yale Journal of International Affairs, and co-chair of the Yale Philanthropy Conference. She earned her BS in finance and in interdisciplinary business management with a marketing minor, magna cum laude, from Miami University.
